I love pain. The right kind of pain. You know, the one which helps you to grow stronger? Both mentally and physically I mean.
I think it is important to push through the pain. Why? As average is just not going to cut it. You won’t get the best results. You will not challenge yourself.
Here is the thing about average… that is all it will ever be; average. I don’t want to be average. I am not average. I was built to push through the pain. To be tougher. Stronger. Better than the weaker version of myself. I want that weaker version of myself dead. Of course you can feel your best but you can still push harder. You can be even better and should never settle for something that is easy, that is comfortable. Average exists in this world.. but you and I we are not going to settle for that. We were born to grow. NOW…how do you push through the pain of a challenging workout?
It all comes from within you. You have to believe so much in yourself that nothing can or will stop you. You are a badass, a warrior. Pain becomes your opponent and it is your duty to battle against it, both mentally and physically.
“I was scared to lift heavier”
“I felt sick today”
Stop being a wimp. These excuses are not good enough. You have to push yourself to the limit. If you are still standing, if you didn’t fatigue, if you didn’t even break a sweat then you DID NOT PUSH YOURSELF HARD ENOUGH.
HOW CAN I PUSH THROUGH THE PAIN?
Discipline. Do it even if you don’t feel like it…destroy what destroys you.

Bend so you don’t break!! Yoga helps manage our response to highly emotional stimuli, such as pain. The goal of yoga is not to get better at yoga. The goal is to find inner peace. Yoga is helping me to appreciate my body and to become aware of the noise that my mind creates. The ability to master discipline of your mind will allow you to push your body through the pain.
THINK OF THE REWARD
Being sore after a tough workout, I love that shit! Remember why you’re doing it. You hear this alot yeah? But truly, making yourself proud is one of the BEST feelings in the world. Pain is just weakness leaving your body and call me crazy but try not to complain about the pain…try to enjoy it!
MOTIVATIONAL VIDEOS & GOALS
I listen to these on the way to the gym. These videos are full of inspiring speeches. Watching and listening really helps to lock my mind set onto my goal.
You need to keep your goal in mind so that you are disciplined to go on. There is no way you can push through pain if you have no vision, no purpose! For example one of my goals today was 10 reps (each leg) on single leg press, weights up each time. I reached a PB.

Music makes the pain fade. Create a playlist which bangs!!! This will distract you from the pain in a way that doesn’t distract you from your goal. My favourite genres are Hip Hop, R&B and Rap, if you want a link to my Spotify just drop a comment below I am happy to share my tunes always ;D.
SLEEP WELL AND EAT WELL
Rest well and your gym sessions will be strong. Eat well and your gym sessions will be strong. Simples.
Anyway, the pain is something that I chose to battle through in order to become better. I am fighting for a better version of myself and a better life for that. Pain is just the foundation of life…sooo don’t stop when it hurts, stop when you are DONE.
NO PAIN. NO CHAMPAGNE.
